Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda) is a Muslim child with Asperger syndrome who grew up with his mother (Zarina Wahab) in the Borivali section of Mumbai.As an adult (Shahrukh Khan), Rizwan falls in love with a Hindu single mother, Mandira (Kajol) who lives in San Francisco.

While not focusing on the events of 9/11, the storyline explores the period afterwards. At that time, authorities arrest and detain Rizwan, after interpreting the visible aspects of his condition as "suspicious" behavior. After his arrest, he meets Radha (Sheetal Menon), a therapist who helps him overcome the ordeal. Rizwan then begins a journey to find and meet President Barack Obama (Christopher B. Duncan) in order to clear his name.

Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez, has been crowned Miss Universe 2009 making it a historical second win in a row for Venezuela. Miss Australia, Rachael Finch, and Miss Puerto Rico, Mayra Matos Perez shared the first runner-up title, with the title of second runner-up going to Miss Kosovo, Gona Dragusha.

The new Miss Universe is an 18 year old beauty who is of Russian, Ukrainian, Galician and Polish origin.

Ishqiya is a story about love arising in characters, portrayed uniquely according to their own personal traits.
